There are Visitor Cards located in the card holders on the backs of the pews. Please fill one out for us and place it in the collection plate when it is passed. Again, we thank you
for visiting with us today.
We have an Attended Nursery in the Education Building for babies up to 2½ years old;
or, if you’d like to stay with your child, an Unattended Nursery at the back of the
auditorium next to the Foyer.
We have Children’s Church for children ages 2½ through 5 years in the Children’s Church Room in the Education Building. A slide will be flashed on the screen when it’s time for the children to be dismissed for that program. Toward the end of our service, the children’s teachers will bring the children back to you for the closing songs.

TEXAS SEND-OFF SHOWER: On Saturday, November 14 at 6 pm there will be a “Texas Send-Off”
Shower for Jason and Paula Hicks at the Matthews home, 3005 Stratford Drive in Temple. When Jason and
Paula got married, they were to live with Mark and Debra, so we decided to postpone a wedding shower until
they were “out on their own.” Well, that time is fast approaching. Jason will be leaving for basic training on
December 6, and then sometime after the first of the year, they will be moving to California for his further
training in the Air Force. We want finally to help them get started on their “housekeeping” by giving them a
shower but also a big Texas Send-off since they will be moving away from us for a while. Please plan to
come and join us for this time of celebration and “well-wishing”. They are registered at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Our elder chairman for the month of October is Kevin Huddleston. Please get in touch with Kevin if you
Request: If anyone has borrowed John for Everyone, Part 2, a commentary by N. T. Wright, please let Cathy, Bill
or Michael know. This is one of the books Bill and Michael use in preparation for their sermons on John, and we
can’t seem to find it. We’d just like to know who has it so we can “borrow it back” when one of the speakers needs it.
Our Nursery and Children’s Church Calendars for the next two months are ready, so if Cathy hasn’t already
found you to give you yours, please look on the back table for it.
NOTE:If you have Praise, Illness, Travel, Bereavement, or “Other” prayer requests, please e-mail them to
Cathy. Her church e-mail address is cccc@vvm.com. She normally needs these by Tuesday for her e-mail
announcements and by Friday noon for the Sunday bulletin announcements.
Encourage One Another in Love
Note cards are available on the buffet in the foyer for anyone wanting to send a word of encouragement. You may
mail them yourself or place them in the box provided, and the church will address and mail them for you.
