There are Visitor Cards located in the card holders on the backs of the pews. Please fill one out for us and place it in the collection plate when it is passed. Again, we thank you for visiting with us today.
We have an Attended Nursery in the Education Building for babies up o to 2½
years old; or, if you’d like to stay with your child, an Unattended Nursery at the
back of the auditorium next to the Foyer.
We have Children’s Church for children ages 2½ through 5 years in the Children’s Church Room in the Education Building. A slide will be flashed on the screen when it’s time for the children to be dismissed for that program. Toward the end of our service, the children’s teachers will bring the children back to you for the closing songs.

The Kneip’s group will meet tonight – 5 pm – Kneip’s home
The Fortson’s and Rascoe’s/Garmon’s group will meet tonight at the Fortson’s home from
5-7 pm for a singing. Everyone bring sandwiches or a dessert to share.
On September 9, we will resume our Wednesday Meal Preparation Rotation. There is a
tentative list posted on the wall by the kitchen. Please look at it and see if you see any
problems with your “assigned day.” We will plan this coming Wednesday to have everyone
bring a salad to share. We’re trying to make the list last till Thanksgiving, so by having a f
ew times where everyone brings something, it makes that possible! After our meal this week,
we’ll have our first “Elder Chat”.
“ELDER CHAT” – This coming Wednesday, the elders will hold their first “Elder Chat”,
an “open forum” during our devotional time. Please come and participate. The elders
want you to know that they are open to your questions and suggestions and are happy
to entertain them in this discussion format. If, of course, your question or suggestion is
on a more personal note, they are always free to talk with you during their Wednesday
night elders’ meeting after church, after church on Sunday mornings in the Conference
Room, or at any time that a meeting can be scheduled.
Sunday School Announcements: Next Sunday, our classes, ages 3 through 2nd grade,
will have a combined class in Mrs. Massey’s classroom. The 3rd – 5th grade class, the
6th – 8th grade class and the High School class will begin anew on that day for the fall quarter.
We would still love to hear from anyone who would be interested in helping us in our
education program for our kids. We especially need about three people who would
be willing to substitute in our younger kids’ classes through elementary age. If we
had one person assigned to each class who would be available to sub, that would
make it possible for us to continue with our curriculum in each class without having to forego
it when we combine. We also are in need of a few more people to be on the Children's Church
rotation. Please let Cathy or Debra know if any of these are ways you would like to serve.
We actually encourage any member whose children participate in Children’s Church or the
Attended Nursery program to take a turn at participating in those ministries. If we have
enough helpers, no one would have to help more than about once every two months.
Our elder chairman for the month of September will be Bill Kneip. Please get in touch
with Bill if you have any questions or would like to meet with the elders. His e-mail address is:
Please remember to bring your food contributions for our Food Pantry here at our building!

Our Divorce Care and Divorce Care for Kids (DC4K) programs will be re-starting on
Tuesday evening, September 8, at 6 pm. This group is in need of a volunteer who would
provide the snacks each Tuesday night for the Divorce Care for Kids meeting. Most of
the time, the snacks are fairly inexpensive, but the program does have suggestions
about what to provide. If you would be willing to help with this, please see Dorris. Be sure
to tell anyone you know who might be in need of this program to come that night or call Michael
for more information.
We have received a flyer from Lifeline Chaplaincy Central Texas about a workshop in
Austin beginning on Friday evening, October 30, at 6 pm. The workshop is designed to
equip spiritual care providers and other interested persons, such as visitation team
members, with basic listening, self-awareness and interpersonal relationship skills necessary
for effective ministry. Please see the flyer on the bulletin board for times, location, cost, and more details.
Mary Nelson has just begun a new “business” and wants you to know about it! She is
preparing meals, either individual or complete meals, casseroles, desserts, etc. for sale to
help you out when you don’t have time to prepare them yourself. There is a flyer on the table
with all the information. The Fortsons had one for lunch last week, so check with them for a
recommendation!! See Mary for more details or if you have questions.
NOTE: Anytime you have Praise, Illness, Travel, Bereavement, or “Other” prayer requests,
please e-mail them to Cathy. Her church e-mail address is cccc@vvm.com and her home
for her e-mail announcements, and by Saturday morning for Sunday’s bulletin.
The Nursery and Children’s Church Calendars are ready for those who participate in those
ministries. See Cathy to get yours or she may find you first!
