There are Visitor Cards located in the card holders on the backs of the pews. Please fill one out for us and place it in the collection plate when it is passed. Again, we thank you for visiting with us today.
We have an Attended Nursery in the Education Building for babies up o to 2½
years old; or, if you’d like to stay with your child, an Unattended Nursery at the
back of the auditorium next to the Foyer.
We have Children’s Church for children ages 2½ through 5 years in the Children’s Church Room in the Education Building. A slide will be flashed on the screen when it’s time for the children to be dismissed for that program. Toward the end of our service, the children’s teachers will bring the children back to you for the closing songs.

We are so pleased to announce that Scott and April Weems placed membership with us last
Sunday morning! We will be getting a picture of them soon to add to your Picture Directory,
but for now, just for your paper directory at home, their address is 11091 Stringtown Road,
Temple, 76501, and their phone number is 254-595-0217. They have two precious daughters,
four-year-old Hannah and three-year-old Rachel.
The Kneip’s group will meet tonight – 5 pm – Kneip’s home
The Fortson’s group will meet – 5 pm – Fortson’s home
The Rascoe’s/Garmon’s group will NOT meet tonight; resume 9/13
We would still love to hear from anyone who would be interested in helping us in our education
program for our kids. We especially need about three people who would be willing to substitute
in our younger kids’ classes through elementary age. If we had one person assigned to each
class who would be available to sub, that would make it possible for us to continue with our
curriculum in each class without having to forego it when we combine. We also are in need
of a few more people to be on the Children’s Church rotation. Please let Cathy or Debra know
if any of these are ways you would like to serve.
We actually encourage any member whose children participate in Children’s Church or the
Attended Nursery program to take a turn at participating in those ministries. If we have enough
helpers, no one would have to help more than about once every two months.
Next Sunday morning we will have our Back-to-School Prayer Service. It’s a little later this year
than usual, and, of course, even though God knows our kids are back in school, we still want to
lift them and their teachers and administrators up in prayer and entrust them to God for his
safekeeping and blessings through this school year. We will have it as part of our Sunday morning
worship service, somewhat like our Baby Dedication Service. Michael’s message will center on “prayer”,
and after we bring the kids back from Children’s Church, we will pray over the school-age children
and youth and the adults who work with them. After our prayer time, our children who have just
started 2nd grade, 5th grade and 9th grade will receive their Bibles from us. Please be sure to bring
your children for this time of prayer.
Our elder chairman for the month of September is Bill Kneip. Please get in touch with Bill if
you have any questions or would like to meet with the elders. His e-mail address is: wkneip@hot.rr.com.
Please remember to bring your food contributions for our Food Pantry and put them in the white
bin just outside the old cry room. See Kerri Hensley for more information.

Our congratulations go to Tim and Toni Meadors on the birth of their son, Timothy Paul
Meadors, Jr. He weighed 5 lbs. 5 oz. and was about 18 inches long. Toni had a few
problems which required a C-section, so the baby was about a month early. Let’s keep
them in our prayers as they welcome this precious new life into their family.
A LOOK AHEAD: Our Ladies’ Bible Class for the fall will begin on Thursday, September 17.
The study will be the Beth Moore study on Daniel, so be sure to plan to join that group.
It begins at 9:30 am and concludes at 11:30.
NOTE: Anytime you have Praise, Illness, Travel, Bereavement, or “Other” prayer requests,
please e-mail them to Cathy. Her church e-mail address is cccc@vvm.com and her home
for her e-mail announcements, and by Saturday morning for Sunday’s bulletin.
