Welcome to Our Guests
We extend a warm welcome to our guests today at Canyon Creek. We are honored by your presence, and it is our hope that you will be blessed this morning. We ask that you fill out a visitor’s card located in the card holders on the backs of the pews and place it in the collection plate. Again, thank you for worshipping with us today.

Information for our Visitors: We have an Attended Nursery in the Education Building for babies up to 2½ years old; or, if you’d like to stay with
your child, an Unattended Nursery at the back of the auditorium next to the Foyer.

We have Children’s Church for children ages 2½ through 5 years in the Children’s Church Room in the Education Building. A slide will be flashed on the screen when it’s time for the children to be dismissed for that program. Toward the end of our service, the children’s teachers will bring them back to you for the closing songs.

Please remember the Salado Church of Christ’s Summer Preaching Series on Wednesday nights.  We would love to have you join us next week! Dr. Michael Weed will speak on: “The Church: Where We Are and Why We’re Here.” There is a children’s program for children up through elementary school at the Salado church.  Our babysitter that we had to keep your children here has now gone home and is no longer available. Remember, we must be at Canyon Creek by 6 pm to be able to drive together to Salado.

Please remember to bring your food contributions for our Food Pantry here at our building! There is a white bin just outside the old cry room in which to put your items for the pantry. See Kerri Hensley for more information.

Our elder chairman for the month of July will be Kevin Huddleston. If you have any questions or would like to meet with the elders, please get in touch with Kevin, and if necessary, he can put you on the agenda for their meetings. At the present time, because of the Salado Preaching Series, they are not meeting on Wednesday nights, but will be scheduling meetings as necessary.  His e-mail address is: kphuddleston@swmail.sw.org.

Our week at Camp of the Hills is now just two weeks away (July 13-18)!  Debra and Cathy will be going down to the camp on Thursday to take some of the supplies that have been donated by you as well as to check out the pantry and freezer to see what food is available for us to use. By doing that, it makes it easier for us to figure out what we still need to buy – and  arrange to  have cooked before we go for the week of camp.

There are sign-up sheets on the back table for you to indicate if you can help with cooking meat and/or cookies for us ahead of time. There is also one for you to sign if you could come down to the camp to help for a day – cooking  with Debra, Cathy and Dianne.

The sheet for “cooking meat” will ask for your name and how many pounds of meat you are willing to cook for us (ground meat and sausage). We will have it ready to give you on Sunday, July 5 so that you’ll have a week to get it done and back to us by Sunday, July 12.

The sign-up sheet for cookies will just ask for your name and how many cookies you could provide. We do ask that they be home-baked since a lot of these kids don’t get “home-baked” anything very often. We will need about 45 dozen cookies for a dessert for one meal.

Again, we thank you for all the things you have already brought and the contributions some of you have given us toward the supplies and the food we will have to buy. We will be cooking 3 meals a day for a total of about 175 people each meal, so your help is greatly appreciated!!

Please pray that we have enough volunteers to help as well as enough teens to help serve! We need at least 12 teens (8th grade and up) to help with the serving of the tables.

NOTE: Our High School Group will be going to Sabbath Camp at the end of July to minister and witness to street kids. One thing they have been asked to bring with them is socks for these homeless kids. Regular white sox, crew length or longer (adult men’s size M or L), is what has been specified. For just about $5 you can pick up a package of socks, and they would be such a blessing to these kids!  If you’d rather contribute money (so it can be a taxable donation), we will buy them for you; just mark your check or cash “socks for Sabbath”. The group will also be collecting your “pocket change” in jars marked “Change for Sabbath”. Please try to remember to put your change in these jars when you pass by.
