Welcome to Our Guests
We extend a warm welcome to our guests today at Canyon Creek. We are honored by your presence, and it is our hope that you will be blessed this morning. We ask that you fill out a visitor’s card located in the card holders on the backs of the pews and place it in the collection plate. Again, thank you for worshipping with us today.
For our Visitors: We have an Attended Nursery located in the Education Building (across the breezeway) for babies up to 2½ years old; and, if you’d like to stay with your child, an Unattended Nursery at the back of the auditorium next to the Foyer.
We have a Children’s Church for children ages 2½ through 5 years in the Children’s Church Room in the Education Building. A slide will be flashed on the screen when it’s time for the children to be dismissed for that program. Toward the end of our service after the announcements, the children’s teachers will bring them back to you for the closing songs

A LOOK AHEAD:
A Work Day is being planned for next Saturday, May 2. We will have some bigger projects for some of you, but we will also have some smaller jobs (inside and outside) for everyone, so please plan to come and help us with these tasks. As Michael said, “Come one, come all – there’ll be jobs for everyone!” A side note: if anyone knows of anything that needs to be done or repaired, please tell Cathy or Michael, and if it’s not already on the list, we’ll put it there!
We have now finalized the date (changed since last Wednesday) for our Graduate Sunday Cookout honoring Hannah Beth Davis, our only high school graduate this year. It will be on Sunday evening, May 24, at 5:30 pm at the Matthews’ home, 3005 Stratford where you are welcome to swim and enjoy being outside! Please come and help us celebrate Hannah Beth’s upcoming graduation.
Please remember to bring your food contributions for our Food Pantry here at our building. We need canned goods and other non-perishable food items to “stock the shelves”. There is a list on the table of possible things to contribute, and there will be a white bin in the old cry room in which to put our contributions for the pantry. See Kerri Hensley for more information.
Our elder chairman for the month of April is Kevin Huddleston. If you have any questions or would like to meet with the elders, please get in touch with Kevin so he can put it on the agenda for their meetings. His e-mail address is: kphuddleston@swmail.sw.org

We now have our packets of our Picture Directory pages of all our new members ready to be picked up! They are on the tables in the Fellowship Room and are labeled with your name. They should contain pages for each of our twelve new members/families, as well as a new picture of Mary Joyce. ALSO, on the first table, are the complete Picture Directories for these twelve new members/families. They also are labeled with your name, so just pick yours up and start learning all our names!! A few of our members who already have the directory actually purchased additional ones, so if you are one of those people, see Cathy to get the additional packets for those other copies that you have.
There is a sign-up sheet on the back table for anyone who would like a new copy of what we call our “Paper Directory”, a much thinner listing of just the families’ information with no pictures. A sample of it is beside the sign-up sheet. If you would like one of those, just put your name down, and Cathy will print them off by Wednesday night.

Their phone number is a cell number and is the same as is listed in your directory.

SAVE THE DATE: Our Camp of the Hills Service Week this summer is July 13-18! We will need volunteers to come help during the day with cooking as well as people to cook meat for us beforehand, so if you can’t go to camp, maybe you could cook for us before we go! We will also be collecting supplies that the camp needs during the week we are there. So…be thinking and praying about ways you can help. It’s a wonderful ministry!

Reminder to our members: you may have your contribution automatically deducted from your bank account either weekly or monthly. Some of our members take advantage of this service; so if you would like to participate, see Cathy or Debra for information.
Our hint this week for ways we can be helpful and live for Jesus in 2009 is:
WHEN WE TURN SOMETHING ON, WE TURN IT OFF.
Let’s remember this one this week at home, at work and in our church family.
