Welcome to Our Guests

We extend a warm welcome to our guests today at Canyon Creek. We are honored by your presence, and it is our hope that you will be blessed this morning. We ask that you fill out a visitor’s card located in the card holders on the backs of the pews and place it in the collection plate. Again, thank you for worshipping with us today.

For our Visitors:  We have an Attended Nursery located in the Education Building (across the breezeway) for babies up to 2½ years old; and, if you’d like to stay with your child, an Unattended Nursery at the back of the auditorium next to the Foyer.

We hav        Children’s Church for children ages 2½ through 5 years in the Children’s Church Room in the Education Building.  A slide will be flashed on the screen when it’s time for the children to be dismissed for that program, and then they will be brought back over after the message and communion so they can participate in the closing songs.

Last Sunday morning, Bill Kneip announced that the book, John for Everyone, Part One (Chapters 1-10) had been donated to our church library in memory of Pauline Vivian Johnson, favorite grandmother of Pam Boivie. This book is a “user–friendly” commentary on the book of John, and anyone is welcome to borrow it from the library.

An Easter Egg Hunt for our children up to age 6 has been planned for immediately after our church service this morning. The hunt will be held in the courtyard, and Dorris Fortson will be “in charge.”

A LOOK AHEAD:

On April 25th the Belton Christian Church is hosting a Ladies Retreat at Tanglewood camp outside Rockdale where Dorris Fortson will be one of the workshop speakers.  The registration cost is $37; please see Dorris if you would like to go.

A Work Day is tentatively being planned for Saturday, May 2. We will have some bigger projects for some of you, but we will also have some smaller jobs (inside and outside) that many of you should be able to “tackle”, so please plan to come and help us with these tasks. As Michael said, “Come one, come all – there’ll be jobs for everyone!” A side note: if anyone knows of anything that needs to be done or repaired, please tell Cathy or Michael, and if it’s not already on the list, we’ll put it there!

We are also beginning to plan our Graduate Sunday Cookout honoring Hannah Beth Davis, our only high school graduate this year. Our two possible dates are May 10 and May 17, so we will finalize that with her and her parents, and then let you know more details.

Our hint this week for ways we can live for Jesus in 2009 is:

WE DO NOT CREATE UNNECESSARY WORK FOR OTHERS.

Let’s concentrate especially on this one this week!

It applies to us in all areas of our lives – at home, at work and in our church family.

SAVE THE DATE: Our Camp of the Hills Service Week this summer is July 13-18! We will need volunteers to come help during the day with cooking as well as people to cook meat for us beforehand, so if you can’t go to camp, maybe you could cook for us before we go! We will also be collecting supplies that the camp needs during the week we are there. So…be thinking and praying about ways you can help. It’s a wonderful ministry!
