Welcome to Our Guests

We extend a warm welcome to our guests today at Canyon Creek. We are honored by your presence, and it is our hope that you will be blessed this morning. We ask that you fill out a visitor’s card located in the card holders on the backs of the pews and place it in the collection plate. Again, we thank you for worshipping with us today.

For our Visitors:  We have an Attended Nursery located in the Education Building (across the breezeway) for babies up to 2½ years old, and, if you’d like to stay with your child, an unattended Nursery at the back of the auditorium off the Foyer.

We have Children’s Church for children 2½ through 5 years in the Children’s Church Room in the Education Building.  Before the pre-communion song, your children will be dismissed for that program and then brought back over after the message so they can participate in the closing songs.

Last Sunday we welcomed Jeffrey and Matthew Young into God’s kingdom! They were both baptized into Christ Sunday morning, and it was a joyous time! Jeffrey and Matthew are already in your directory as part of the Earl Young Family. Matthew is a 5th-grade student at Raye Allen Elementary School.

We also welcome Laura Young into our membership here. She talked to the elders last Sunday morning and indicated her desire to place her membership with us. She lives at 2315 Fox Glen Lane in Temple, 76502. Her home phone number is 254-774-1829.

In case you weren’t here last Sunday, we announced that Penny Vance was baptized the Wednesday night before after our Fellowship Meal. We praise God for her decision to put Christ on in baptism. It was truly a time of rejoicing!  She is currently living with the Earl Young family.

We are still working on getting everyone’s pictures, so it will likely be another week before we have your new pages for your Picture Directory. Isn’t it great to have this “problem”?

Let’s be sure to greet and welcome all of our new members!

A LOOK AHEAD:

Sojourn Group: Those of you who are still around after spring break begins, there will be a movie night at the Hartnagle’s home next Sunday evening beginning at

5 pm. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Bring your own supper if you need more than snacks.

Sojourn Group leaves on their ski trip next Monday morning (the 16th) and will return Friday evening (the 20th). Let’s remember them in our prayers.

Saturday, the 28th, Sojourn will have a Game Night at the building from 6 to 9 pm. The note says you’ll be playing “messy games”, so come prepared! Bring a sack supper for yourself.

Sunday, March 29, will be Sojourn’s next Fundraiser Lunch. Let’s remember to put this on our calendars so we can come and help them raise money for their camps this summer.

PRAYER REQUESTS: Please keep Connie Hicks’ mother in your prayers. She has been diagnosed with cancer in her lung, back, and liver, and she has a tumor in her heart. We need to pray also for David and Connie as they go through this tough time.

NOTE:  Keller and Connie Matthews have some Ash firewood available for anyone who would like to have it. It is piled in their driveway, and you are free to go by and get however much you’d like. They live at 3005 Stratford Drive in Temple.

The cell phone number given for Jeffrey Young in your directory is currently not a working number.

Our hint this week for ways we can live for Jesus in 2009 is:

WHEN SOMEONE IS SAD, WE COMFORT HIM.

This applies to all of us in all areas where we live, work and worship
