Welcome to Our Guests
We extend a warm welcome to our guests today at Canyon Creek. We are honored by your presence, and it is our hope that you will be blessed this morning. We ask that you fill out a visitor’s card located in the card holders on the backs of the pews and place it in the collection plate. Again, we thank you for worshipping with us today.
For our Visitors: We have an Attended Nursery located in the Education Building (across the breezeway) for babies up to 2½ years old, and, if you’d like to stay with your child, an unattended Nursery at the back of the auditorium off the Foyer
We have Children’s Church for children 2½ through 5 years in the Children’s Church Room in the Education Building. Before Communion, your children will be dismissed for that program and then brought back over after the sermon so they can participate in the closing songs.
We are so pleased to announce the baptism of Cody Wright by Jonathan Hartnagle last Sunday morning. Cody has been visiting with us for about a year and has been studying with Jonathan and Jennifer. Cody, we are so happy for you and welcome you into our fellowship here at Canyon Creek! Be sure to come to any of us if you have any needs!
We welcome everyone today to our Super Sunday worship service! We especially are happy to see all of our visitors and hope you will come back again and that you’ll give us an opportunity to meet you. Please join us for our Fellowship Pot-Luck Dinner over in the Fellowship Building right after this morning’s service.
Thanks to our Sojourn (Youth) Group for the delicious meal we had last Sunday. They made about $200 profit for their Sabbath camp this summer, and we had a great time visiting during the meal!
Tonight, Old Testament Challenge will not meet due to our Super Sunday this morning and the Super Bowl tonight. We’ll resume next Sunday evening at 5:30.
Valentine Dinner coming up! Please reserve Saturday, February 14 at 6:30 pm for our Valentine Dinner. Audell Shelburne is heading it up this year, and he may be asking you for help!! There is a sign-up sheet on the back table, so please take a minute to put in your “reservation.” We will have childcare here at the building for your younger children. The cost will be $10 per person.
If you would be willing to prepare the trays for our Sunday morning Communion service, please let Cathy know. We still need someone for September and October.

Our hint this week for ways we can live for Jesus in 2009 is:
WE CONSIDER ONE ANOTHER’S INTERESTS AHEAD OF OUR OWN.
Let’s concentrate especially on this one this week!
It applies to all of us in all areas where we live, work and worship.
DRIVER NEEDED! Brian Ward is needing a ride to church and is willing to compensate you for your gas cost if necessary. He lives on North 2nd Street behind the Social Security office building. If you would be willing to do this as a service to one of our members, please let Cathy or Michael know and/or get in touch with Brian. He would like to come to class as well, but if that’s not possible, church would be fine!

Next Sunday, February 8, we will be taking up a special offering for Kyla Young and Jim Huddleston who are both going on spring break mission trips. Kyla will be going to Honduras and Jim to Boston. The website with more information about Kyla’s trip is: http://www.summitviewchurch.qwestoffice.net/Little%20Hands,%20Big%20Hearts.html. Please come prepared to give as much as you can to both these efforts.
Myrna Ortiz is the woman who is helping Sibyl Gersbach every morning around her house. However, she still needs work in the afternoons, so if anyone needs a good “house cleaner,” get in touch with Mark Hicks at 778-6254 or Patty Hicks at 295-7835.
Also, Diane Gunn has informed us that she would be interested in house-sitting, pet-sitting or baby sitting (if you’d like to go away for a few days, etc.) She goes to the Belton Church of Christ. See Cathy for more info.
Lifeline Chaplaincy is hosting a seminar entitled “Walking in on Bad News” on Thursday, February 19, 2009. It is a continuing education seminar for chaplains, ministers, church leaders and anyone involved in church-based visitation programs or who are involved in providing spiritual support to persons in crisis. The time is 6-8 pm. See the flyer on the bulletin board if you are interested in more information.
