Welcome to Our Guests
We extend a warm welcome to our guests today at Canyon Creek. We are honored by your presence, and it is our hope that you will be blessed this morning. We ask that you fill out a visitor’s card located in the card holders on the backs of the pews and place it in the collection plate. Again, we thank you for worshipping with us today.
For our Visitors: We have an Attended Nursery located in the Education Building (across the breezeway) for babies up to 2½ years old, and an unattended Nursery at the back of the auditorium off the Foyer if you’d like to stay with your child.
Before the sermon today, children 2½ through 5 years will be dismissed for Children’s Church which is held in the Children’s Church Room in the Education Building. You may pick up your child/children from there after the worship service is over.
Thanks to all who brought food for our Christmas food drive for Medina Home and our families we are helping this Christmas! The food has been sorted, and some sacks have already been distributed to the families.
Thanks, also, to all of you who contributed to the Christmas gifts for the families we are helping or who “adopted” a family and bought the gifts for that family. We really appreciate everyone’s help with this benevolence effort! We got them all wrapped Wednesday night and ready to be delivered!
Of course, our Christmas Dinner was delicious, and we want to thank Zoe Rascoe for her leadership in this activity as well as the Talent Show, which was also a big success. Thanks to all the participants AND all who brought the wonderful food for our dinner!
Last Friday the Youth Group had a “Mini-Retreat” here at the building. They have come up with a new name for their group “Sojourn.” Jonathan will have a little to say about the retreat this morning and their plans for the group when he makes the announcements.
Today, we will continue with our Advent readings. We will have a video to begin the meditation, and then the Fortson family will share a scripture and thought as we remember the coming of Jesus.
Today, remember to come to the all-church Christmas Brunch at the Fortson’s Home immediately after our morning worship. Their address is 3601 Las Cienega in Temple. There will be maps on the back table for you to use if necessary. DON’T EAT BEFORE YOU COME!!
On Wednesday, December 24, we will have our Christmas Eve Service at 5 pm. Please come as we conclude our Advent readings and focus on the true meaning of Christmas as we enjoy our celebrations with family and friends.
The Belton Church of Christ will be hosting the “End-of-Year” Service on Sunday evening, December 28, at 6 pm. All members of the area Churches of Christ are invited.
A Look Ahead: In January, we are planning to resume our Old Testament Challenge study group on Sunday evenings. A definite date has not been decided, but if you are interested in that study, keep it in mind!

TRAINS AND PLANES & AUTOMOBILES! Let’s please remember all of our Christmas travelers in prayer in this upcoming week. Many of us have children driving or flying home, and in some cases, we are the ones traveling, so let’s just pray for safety for everyone!
Someone from the Census Bureau came by today to leave a flyer about jobs they will need to fill. The flyer is on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Building. It has “tear-off” slips you can take with the phone number to call to inquire about the availability of jobs.
Just FYI: Sojourn is planning a trip to Denver this summer, July 26-August 1, called Sabbath. The camp cost will be $250 per person, but they will be trying to raise all of the money through fundraisers; however, J & J will need commitments from the teens if their way is to be paid through the fundraisers.
