Welcome to Our Guests

We extend a warm welcome to our guests today at Canyon Creek. We are honored by your presence, and it is our hope that you will be blessed this morning. At the beginning of the service, visitor cards will be distributed by our children. We ask that you fill out the card and place it in the collection plate. Again, we thank you for worshipping with us today.

Tonight, please remember to come to our meeting from 5:30–7:00 in the auditorium for a video and discussion on instrumental music. This is a very important study, so please come. Childcare will be provided, and please bring sack suppers for your children.

The Fortsons have invited all of us to come after the evening study to their house (3601 Las Cienega) for BBQ beef burgers. If you’d like, you can bring chips and dip, a drink, cookies/dessert or just yourself!

Our Elder Chairman for the month of October is Terry Rascoe. If you have any questions or need to meet with the elders, please talk with Terry. His e-mail address is tgrascoe@hot.rr.com.

Our MOPS program started last Monday and went well! If you know anyone who would be interested in this group, please let them know or have them call Jennifer for information. One of the MOPS children’s teachers changed her mind about teaching at the last minute, so if you know anyone who would like to have a job two Monday mornings a month, please let her know!

We have a new sign-up sheet on the back table for meals for the Harpers. Connie Matthews is now heading this up, and for the next four weeks, we will be taking them food just once a week on Thursdays. We will see how that goes, and if it needs to be changed (either the day or the number of days), we will do that when this sign-up sheet is finished. Please sign up if you can!

A Look Ahead

All-Church Fish Fry! On Sunday, November 2 at about 5 pm we will have an All-Church Fish Fry at the Dunn’s Farm. Put this on your calendar, and we’ll have more details later.

Kristen Hicks is working with a non-profit organization in Austin that is raising money for children’s schools in Ecuador by having a soccer tournament at Zilker Park on November 1. They need people to help on the day of the tournament as well as teams to play in the tournament. Jason Hicks and possibly Josh Hicks are trying to get teams together, so if you are interested in helping, see Mark or Debra Hicks (or Jason Hicks if you’re interested in playing).

The MOPS group and our Youth Group are going to have a combined Garage Sale on Saturday, November 8!! We don’t have any place to keep things right now at church, but if you can just put your stuff back and wait a bit, we can start storing items in the Children’s Church Room after church on November 2.

Please remember to keep Lynn McCaslin in your prayers as she recovers and goes through rehab after the major stroke she had on September 21. She is in Park Place Campus of Care, Room 411, 121 FM 971 in Georgetown, 78626. We are sure she would enjoy receiving cards. She is still a little confused, but she would probably appreciate a visit as well.
