Welcome to Our Guests
We extend a warm welcome to our guests today at Canyon Creek. We are honored by your presence, and it is our hope that you will be blessed this morning. At the beginning of the service, visitor cards will be distributed by our children. We ask that you fill out the card and place it in the collection plate. Again, we thank you for worshipping with us today.
We are so excited to announce the birth of Rachel Marin to Justin and Christy Truitt! She was born Thursday evening, September 4, and weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces and was 18 inches long. Congratulations Justin and Christy!!
We welcome back Sarah Herriott as our teacher/babysitter for the Wednesday night preschool class and nursery. Her friend, Stacy Fannin, is joining her as a second helper/babysitter for that group. We are so glad these girls, who are students at UMHB, can help us with this class!
Our new babysitters/teachers in the Nursery and Preschool rooms for the Thursday morning Women’s Bible Study are Jennifer Hartnagle and Rebekah Johnson (the Fortson’s daughter). We are so glad these women are willing to help us with this class!
Youth Fundraiser Lunch: Our youth group will be preparing another Fundraiser Lunch today! The main dish will be baked potatoes with all the “fixins” so make plans to stay, eat and help with the youth fund.
Next Sunday evening, September 14, we will go to Hearthstone for a worship, singing and communion service with the residents there. Please come to Hearthstone by 6 pm and help us with that ministry.
On September 18, our Thursday Women’s Bible Study will meet at 9:30 am. Those of you who were involved in this class in the spring will remember your study of the book At Jesus’ Feet by Kirkie Morrissey. We will continue that study with “Listening to the Spirit” on page 53. If you were not involved in the spring, there are a few extra copies of the book in Cathy’s office. Just ask if you need one! Childcare will be provided for preschoolers.
On September 20 and 21, we are scheduled to have a group from Abilene Christian University called “Seekers of the Word” come to visit us here at Canyon Creek. They will be in charge of the worship service Sunday morning, and then after the service, they will meet and have lunch here at the building with all who are or would be interested in a drama group forming here at the church.
On Tuesday, September 23, the Evening Women’s Study will begin, time TBA. This class will go through the book, Walking by Faith “Lessons Learned in the Dark” by Jennifer Rothschild. Dorris will give us more information about this class later.

Our MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) begins on Monday, October 8 at 9:30 am. Be sure to let your friends know about this great ministry.
GARAGE SALE! Our MOPS Group and the Youth Group are planning a combined garage sale on November 8. Start cleaning your closets!

If you are the parent of a college student, please give his/her address and e-mail address to Cathy. She will print out a “College Student Directory” so we can send them notes of encouragement from time to time.
Our new Picture Directory is really going to be coming out soon! What we need you to do is check your information on one of the Paper Directories on the back table and verify that all the information is correct. Be sure to check phone numbers and e-mail addresses!
The Kneips will be leaving on vacation about 5 am next Friday morning. If you have any announcements for next week’s bulletin (September 14), Cathy must have them by Thursday morning!! Any others for the September 21 bulletin can be e-mailed to her at cccc@vvm.com or cathyk@hot.rr.com.
